Why I Always Mess Up "I Want it That Way" by the Backstreet Boys

In the Backstreet Boys song “I Want It That Way” I always come in too early with the chorus “Tell Me Why.” Aargh cringe!!!!!

This annoys everybody. Because there’s still another verse. And then the chorus.

I know the words to the chorus. But I’m off.

Maybe it’s the same with prayer. We know the words to pray: “Dear God” or “our Father in Heaven.”

But maybe we don’t feel it. Our timing is wrong. We’re off key.

But that’s why God fills us with his Spirit.

As we pray, God’s Spirit feels our prayers. He groans our groans. He even gives us the words to pray.

The next time we pray. Don’t just pray the words. But pray in the Spirit.

The Spirit will give us the rhythm, the timing, the melody to our prayers.

But you still can’t come in too early with “Tell Me Why.”
