The first lady of the White House wowed us by singing songs by Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé, and Missy Elliott.
Car Karaoke is fun. But it's only fun because Michelle Obama was in sync with the original artists. She knew their words, moves, and beats.
But if she had been out of sync, we would have cringed. Imagine if she had got Stevie Wonder's words wrong. Or Beyoncé's moves wrong. Or Missy Elliott's beats wrong.
Fun comes from being in sync rather than out of sync with the original artists. We have to follow their words, moves, and beats - not our own.
It's the same with life. Jesus is the Original Artist. He created us and our world.

Often Christians only talk about being saved by Jesus. We've been saved from something negative.
But the Bible also talks about being saved in Jesus. We've been saved into something positive - i.e., a life in sync with Jesus.
That's why the Bible also talks about salvation as God giving us a new song to sing.
Or maybe that should be a new Car Karaoke song with Jesus.
